Five Best Brands for Petites.

Being petite isn't easy - especially in 2025 when oversize fashion is still dominating. And it feels like every fun brand is catering to tall people. As a personal stylist, I often work with petites and get asked for store recommendations. At first glance, it seems like there aren't many options offered - the go-to brands for petite women are usually Loft and J. Crew. They offer solid Petite lines and work well for good-quality basics, but the downside? They can be uninspiring to say the least.

So what do you do if you’re petite, want to be unique, and aren’t a J.Crew girl? Some common options include:
• Buying pieces at regular stores and altering them (not ideal, since proportions are different on a petite frame).
• Shopping in the kids’ department (also a no-go, as the proportions don’t align with an adult body).
• Working with a personal tailor to create custom pieces (expensive, and many tailors are not fashion designers, so the results can be dull or outdated).
The good news is that there are some great brands that aren’t specifically made for petites but still work really well for a petite frame. Here are five that I recommend:
Aritzia- if you are into minimalistic chic. This brand doesn’t have a dedicated petite line, but many of its styles work well for petites, especially their cropped blazers, tops, and tailored pants (which come in both short and regular lengths).
Reformation - if you are into sustainable elegance. This brand is known for its feminine dresses and offers a Petite line that includes dresses and tops designed for smaller proportions.
Vince - if you are into timeless sophistication. This brand doesn't have a dedicated petite line but many of its styles work great for petites due to tailored silhuettes and cropped proportions. Their coat styles are also cut slightly shorter, making it more wearable for petites.
Anthropology - if you are into boho. They do have a Petite line which includes dresses, tops, pants, jumpsuits, and outerwear designed with shorter proportions for a better fit on petite frames.
Sezane - if you are into Parisian chic. This brand doesn't have a dedicated petite line, but many of its styles work great for petites due to Parisian tailoring , cropped trousers and shorter dress lengths.
There are even more brands for petites—including options for petite men—that I happily share with my styling clients. If you have a petite frame and feel unsure about your fashion choices, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to help you find styles that truly work for you.
